Hostel Project – Phase 2
Project: Potters Village is a Child Crisis & Medical Centre, offering a safe and secure environment for vulnerable babies and toddlers, many whom have been abandoned or their families are unable to look after them. Up to 20 can be given a home on site, alongside a busy Medical Centre & Nutritional Rehabilitation Unit.
In the last two years a growing part of the mission has involved education for parents, community nutritional assistance and social care. Much of this work is centred in the ground floor of new building which was started 3 years ago.
However due to lack funding, only the ground floor was completed. For 2 years the top floor has remained a concrete shell with no windows or doors to keep out the weather.
The aim of this fundraising project is to complete the upper floor of the hostel building so it can accommodate on call social workers, provide a small flat for residence or longer term Doctors and Medical staff and also a number of individual rooms, suitable for short term volunteers
Total needed: £25,000 to finish building and fit out the accommodation
