Offering hope and a future to vulnerable children in Jesus' name
"Opportunity to receive education and acquire parenting skills"
The village will be composed of 12 different buildings:
The first Babies’ Home for 12 abandoned babies and their house parents was opened in October 2007 and the building of the Medical Centre and the Laundry was completed in early 2009.
A day/training centre for single mothers and their children will follow. In the meantime, the Village has hired a local home and four girls are living there independently, learning hairdressing skills, for example, or engaged in a cottage industry making jam. Living close to the town is not ideal because the girls are vulnerable and run the risk of encountering clients, and the Village would prefer to accommodate them on the premises.
Staff needed to run the Babies' Home include a part time social worker, part time registered nurse, two full time Mamas (carers), a cook, day security officer and groundsman, a herdsman and night watchman and two domestic assistants.
Local labour is being used to bring maximum advantage to the area. Buildings are being built to the highest standard around a beautiful, unique and yet practical design.
Jenny's links with both local community and with several churches in the UK will maximize the source of people to work in, manage and provide financially for this ministry.
