Offering hope and a future to vulnerable children in Jesus' name
"Babies constantly being abandoned emphasises the need for the Home"
Opened in 2007, the Babies' Home was designed in keeping with Ugandan culture and looks after twelve babies.
The new Babies' Home
Work started on the Village early in 2007 when friends of the director cleared the ground of heavy boulders. In February, the contract for the builder was drawn up and signed and the foundations begun.
Forestry land, to provide firewood, was bought with donations.
Two cows and a calf were bought with a donation from a church in Marple, Stockport.
Rosie and Abigail
As well as grazing the land they will provide milk for the occupants.
The Babies Home is now full and more babies are supported in the community. Ideally the team would like to support all babies in the Village itself but there is insufficient space to do so. When babies are between one and two years old, they are, where possible, returned to their families or to foster parents.
