Visit to PV - January 2024

The Guisborough Christian Fellowship group arrived safely at the diocesan guest house on Friday 19th of January. Having left the UK with very cold weather and saw thick snow on the ground in Brussels, they arrived in Kisoro on a sunny day and a pleasant 20 degrees. Since arriving they have taken things gently, so that they can acclimatise to the altitude. Kisoro sits at 6,000ft (1840m) above sea level, so some people can feel a little light headed at first.

On Sunday they were shown around by Idah (Administrator) and Festo (Social Worker). Currently they have 13 resident babies in the crisis centre. They have been shown the new Oxygen supply system set up by FRE02 recently. On Monday 22nd they started work re-paining some of the murals on the PV buildings that many people know so well. It is great to help tidy them up and something that staff simply don't have time to do. Some members of the team with other skills have been teaching staff resuscitation. I am sure there will be much more work to be done over the coming week, so please check our Facebook page for more details and updates.
